Behind the LiiFESTYLE
Born in Greenville, North Carolina and raised in the Bronx, New York. Karius attended Roosevelt High School (Yonkers, NY), and capped his High school career off at JH Rose High School (Greenville, NC). While bouncing around in high school, Karius played basketball. He was a starter in both schools he attended, but it didn’t come easy. Karius
eventually went on to receive the Coaches award and graduate from JH Rose High School.
With no offers received in high school, Karius set out to make a name for himself and prove the doubters wrong. Karius attended Bronx Community College (Bronx, NY) where he obtained an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts with a 3.8 overall GPA. While at BCC, Karius played basketball where he averaged a double-double near triple double, and was named to the CUNY All Conference team, All tournament team, and received the Coaches Award, Sportsmanship Award, B.A.S.E Award, and numerous of medals for academics, but as he would say the best thing of all is he met his wife, Barbara Castro-Morris. After graduating from BCC, Karius and his wife both received an offer from Pfeiffer University located in Misenheimer, NC.
While at Pfeiffer, Karius and Barbara took up Sports management as their major, with Coaching as their minor and continued to pursue their basketball careers on and off the court. Although their college careers were cut short, at Pfeiffer, due to the birth of their daughter and their commitment to her. They absorbed an amazing amount of knowledge and skills working hands on in the sports field at places such as, the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Charlotte Hornets Arena, Big South media day, and a few more intern opportunities that had an impact on the way they viewed and valued sports. This would come to help Karius and Barbara navigate the ins and outs of the sports world and how to do business on and off of the basketball court.
After Karius left college he spent time working and providing for his family until he was presented with an opportunity to attend the NBA G League Players Invitational in Chicago in 2017. After participating amongst 400+ determined and hungry athletes, Karius was one of the few to receive a B level NBA G league player contract and was invited to more personal team workouts with a few teams. Eventually Karius was entered into the draft where he fell short of being drafted due to lack of representation.
But he didn’t quit there, Karius immediately went on the search for an agent and continued to work on his game. That is when Karius landed a contract with Pure Passion Sports Agency under Agent Sean Mills. While under Agent Sean Mills, Karius Traveled to different countries such as, Canada, Dominican Republic, and Mexico in pursuit of landing a place to call home. After some time playing in these countries he was presented with an offer back home in the United States for the NY Harlem Underdogs in the American Basketball Association. This would allow him to be closer to his daughter and family. While with the Harlem Underdogs, Karius Blossomed into the face of the team on and off the court while averaging a career high in points 25.7PPG and also 8.3 APG, 6.8 RPG and 5.1 SPG but the season was cut short due to a massive pandemic.
Experience
Furthermore, it didn’t stop there, Karius W. Morris moved him and his family back to Greenville, NC, his place of birth, to continue to stay in shape and further his career. While in the process, he connected with a local gym/program called Dungeon City Outwork Program, where he worked for two and half years and put countless amounts of time and work in before branching off and making a name for himself. Not only did he train himself, he started to train and give his knowledge, and experiences back to the kids and people of Greenville in a special way.
The community grew on him and the community started to love him for his knowledge, high energy, loyalty, honesty, supportive ways, and many more things which helped him create more bonds and
connections. He fell in love with it and decided to give up his pro career and make Greenville, NC home once again. While in North Carolina, Karius hosted , trained, volunteered, and Coached at events, such as, J’kyra Brown Elite Invitational, Montrezl Harrell Rocky Mount Camp, Fab 40 Elite camps, Greenville Parks & Rec camps, and numerous of other camps, clinics, and events all over North Carolina.
Throughout his time training he helped numerous athletes from beginners to professionals, such as Day’ron Sharpe of The Brooklyn Nets, Sarah Ogoke from Nigerian national Team, Zameraya Jones, NC State, & many others. Furthermore, Karius coached Junior College
basketball, middle school basketball, AAU travel teams, giving knowledge and developing each kid that crossed paths with him. Lastly, he created, built and hosted a league of his own, The LiiFSTYLE and HERstyle PROAMS that allows all athletes to showcase their talents as he started his own brand: 4KLiiFESTYLE est. 2022 to make his impact and give back to his community.
As he would say, “I’m built Different”, this is a Lifestyle and it’s bigger than me and/or basketball”. It’s God’s plan and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.The Lord is watching and I can’t let him down.
